How many types of risk are there with workplace injuries?

Providing Better Employee Care AND Reducing Work Comp Costs and Claims. Inspirational Keynote Speaker
Because we focus on getting your injured employees assessed and guided to the appropriate level of care, sometimes I forget just how much liability we protect your company from as part of our process. So I thought I would recap some of the additional benefits that our triage service brings to the table in addition to the claims reduction and medical cost savings. Here are some points to ponder:
- Who at your company has enough medical training to accurately determine care needed for a workplace injury? DOCUMENTED training, not just field experience. Please put "Your Honor..." in front of your answer to that question. If you were in court and testifying, would your answer hold up?
- Who is able to ask for information that is HIPAA protected, but is relevant to dealing with the injury itself? If you don't ask these questions, someone with an underlying medical condition may not receive the appropriate care for a minor injury that they need. If you do ask these questions, are you violating someone's right to privacy in regards to their personal medical information?
- Do you play it safe and send everyone to the clinic or ER to get checked out? If so, at least care is being provided by a medical professional, but there are many injuries that do not need clinical intervention. For our client base we average 40% of injuries end up as Self Care, never entering the clinical system and never incurring any medical cost. If you use the "everyone goes" methodology, you are unnecessarily increase claim frequency and medical costs.
As I always say, ANY triage service is going to have an impact for your company. If you want the MOST impact, please reach out to me and I would be happy to demonstrate how we provide our service to benefit your employees and your company.
