There are four types of membrane switch structures

1. Flexible membrane switch

Flexible membrane switch is a common type of membrane switch. This type of membrane switch is called flexible because its graphic overlay, isolation layer, and circuit layer are all composed of flexible films with different properties. The circuit layer of the flexible membrane switch uses polyester film (PET OR FPC) with good electrical performance as the conductor of the switch circuit pattern. Due to the influence of the properties of the polyester film, the membrane switch has good insulation, heat resistance, flexural resistance and high resilience. Therefore, the composition of the entire membrane switch has a certain degree of flexibility, which is not only suitable for use on a flat body, but also can be matched with a curved body. The lead wire of the flexible membrane switch is integrated with the switch body itself. 2. Rigid membrane switch

Rigid membrane switch means that the graphics and circuits of the switch are made on a common printed circuit (PCB) copper clad board. Rigid membrane switches are characterized by easy access to materials, stable process, low resistance, and some components in the circuit can be welded directly on the back of the switch. In the case of a small area, the hard liner layer can be omitted. Rigid membrane switches generally use metal guides as conductive contacts, so they have a better feel. The disadvantage is that there is no flexible membrane switch in the whole machine, which is often necessary to weld and lead the lead through a flat cable. In addition to the buzzer signal and LED indication, the information feedback of the rigid membrane switch can generally use metal handle shrapnel.

3. Plane membrane switch

The buttons on the membrane switch are different in color to indicate the position, shape and size of the key body, which is more common in the initial stage of the membrane switch. Flat membrane switch: Usually the buttons on the membrane switch only use color to express the position, shape and size of the key body. In this way, the accuracy of the operation can only be recognized by the operator's vision. Since there is no appropriate feedback information to indicate whether the finger is pressed in the effective range of the switch to make the switch act, it affects the confidence in the whole machine monitoring and the speed of operation.
