How many SEO experts does it take to change a light bulb, lightbulb , light, lighting, switch?

"Why should I care about it? What does it do? And is it even worth my money?"?

Nope. Not talking about the latest iPhone.

These questions are about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). As a digital marketing agency, we're often asked about the effectiveness and cost of SEO. Well today, we're wrapping up this conversation and tying it off with a beautiful bow.

Because there is a way to determine if your SEO efforts are working. And it's with KPIs.

SEO KPIs track metrics across various marketing activities to gauge which strategies are working to increase your digital presence. There are hundreds of SEO KPIs available to track, but we'll just give you seven.

1. Organic Search Traffic: Understanding how many visitors come to your website—and why—informs future optimization techniques.?

2. Page Load Time: Poor page load time (> 4 seconds) affects your Search ranking.

3. Search Ranking: Google prioritizes E.E.A.T to rank your website's content (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness).

4. Average Session Duration: Monitoring average session duration lets you discover if people are hanging around to engage with your content.

5. Bounce Rate: This metric measures how many visitors leave your website after viewing one page and taking no additional action.

6. Organic Click-Through Rate (CTR): Calculate this metric by dividing the number of clicks on your Search result by the total number of SERP impressions.

7. Conversion Rate: Optimizing your website for conversions should be a top priority if your goal is to generate leads and/or gain new clients.

Marketing Stat Must-Haves: Hubspot just released the ultimate list of marketing stats for 2024. Our fave findings:

  • 29% of marketers list SEO as a top trend they leverage.
  • Google accounts for over 95% of global mobile search market share.
  • Email marketing is one of the most effective channels for driving conversions.
  • 39% of marketers list optimizing on-page content based on keywords as their top SEO strategy.

AI for Video Creation: OpenAI shared a preview of its new text-to-video tool called "Sora." Will businesses and marketers utilize this tool? Will its use be regulated? We'll have to wait and see.

New Decentralized App: Bluesky, the decentralized version of Twitter, is officially out of its beta phase and available to all users. In their announcement post, Bluesky wrote, "Whether it’s your timeline or content filters, on Bluesky, you can easily customize your social experience."?

Tracking Your Website's Data: Google just introduced trend change detection, "a new type of insight that surfaces subtle but long-lasting and important changes in your data." It will highlight sudden spikes or dips in data, as well as more subtle changes over a longer period of time.
