How many masks are you wearing today?
Today we’re wearing masks for the pandemic, but for women, wearing masks is not new.
We’ve been wearing “masks” to present ourselves to the world in our various roles of
- Woman
- Wife
- Friend
- Mother
- Daughter
- Good person
- Volunteer
- Neighbor
- Good employee
- Smart woman
How many masks are you wearing?
This may not be the time to remove the paper ones, but it’s past time to remove the artificial ones we wear to hide our true authenticity.
The most common challenge I see when coaching women to create their mission based business is:
- They are out of touch with WHO they really are
- They have desires but don’t know really WHAT they want
The challenge is that they really do know but they’ve been so busy being someone they are not to fit in and not rock the boat - or - they’ve been desensitized to their true desires.
Being someone they are not leaves them not only exhausted but on a slippery slope to bitterness.
Trying to build a business, movement, or mission disconnected from your true essence and not built on your personal preferences or strengths means neither you or your business will be sustainable.
WHAT TO DO
- Unmask: take some time to some uncovering, discovering, or remembering who you really are.
- Create a new composite of your true essence...the things that really feel authentically you.
- Review it often to stay connected with your core self.
In the Personal Compass I help my clients create we go through what I call the “Authenticator” process where we go on a deep dive to excavate and authenticate the real you - so you can create a life that feels good and fits like a glove. (That feels way better than wearing a mask!)
We create a PROFILE that will serve you better than a social media profile. Not only do you get to embrace the real you, having your own PROFILE will inform and influence your social profiles and your branding so you can show up and become known for your talents, preferences, and products and services. That’s a win-win-win!
What’s in your PROFILE?
- P - personality traits (and all the quirks)
- R - repertoire (a collection of your skills and talents)
- O - outlook on life
- F - flair and style (one of my favorite sections!)
- I - interests
- L - love
- E - experience
Knowing your profile starts to impute clarity in all areas of your life including your mission, your message, and your mantras to live by.
Create your own process to identify and discern these aspects of yourself and then embrace and own your authenticity. Be the real deal. Be the genuine version of yourself.
And if you want help in that process and to get the clarity and certainty of others areas in your life including:
- WHAT - the vision of the life you want to experience
- WHEN - the unforced rhythms of grace-pace instead of hustle and exhaustion
- WHERE - the space you spend time in that supports your vision and mission and desired feelings
- HOW - the principles and beliefs that drive your behavior to get what you want
- WHY - the service why (serving others on your mission) and the selfish why (what you’ll get from using your skills and making a profit - to feel energized by using your gifts and appreciative that you can fund your next dream)
… leave a comment or message me if you’re interested in creating your own Personal Compass to help you get on the right track, stay the course, so you can get to where you want to go with focus, commitment, and reinforcement!
You be you.
