How many hours do successful people invest in studying?

Many successful people share a common habit of lifelong learning, consistently dedicating time to expand their knowledge and skills. But, how much time do they spend daily/weekly/monthly learning things? Let me share what I've found out.

For example, Bill Gates is known for reading about 50 books per year, which equates to roughly an hour of reading each day. How many books do you read a year? Share in the comments.

Warren Buffett spends about 80% of his day reading. He does work smart not hard ??

Elon Musk is famous for his intense reading habits in his early years, which helped him develop the foundational knowledge for his ventures in technology and space.

In terms of more structured study, successful entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals can spend several hours a week learning new skills relevant to their fields, whether that's through reading, online courses, or formal education. This could range from 5 to 15 hours per week or more. What's the recent online course you have taken? Share in the comments to motivate others.

The key takeaway though is not the specific number of hours, but the consistency and dedication to continuous learning and improvement. As someone deeply involved in education and self-improvement, here is a fact for you:

Adopting a habit of regular, focused learning—aligned with your goals—will make you successful, both professionally and personally.

It's also about quality and relevance; ensuring that what you study or read closely aligns with your goals and interests can make the time spent much more effective and enjoyable. That's why, it's important to know what you really want so that you start seeing opportunities to get it.

We each have the same 24 hours available to us. What we do with those hours depends on culture and gender, but we each have at least a few hours to spend in leisure.

There is a trick used by the richest and most successful people in the world.

The 5-hour rule asks us to devote at least one hour a day (total of 5 hours a week) to learning, experimenting, and reflecting.

Could you be one of them? You certainly have the potential!

Personally, I start my day with learning activities, usually at 6 or 7 am. This time is reserved for journaling, meditation, and reading. It's my bare minimum that gives a great start to my day.

How do you find that one hour a day for learning?

Step 1: Put it on your calendar and make it a daily recurring event;

Step 2: Commit to it. Avoid skipping at all cost. Losing a habit is much easier that adopting it;

Step 3: Pick a learning format that fits your needs.

Every time I tell myself that I don't have enough time, I try to remember that we all have the same 24 hours ?? Listening to podcasts and reading short overviews work best for me. But it's definitely about managing your time (and calendar!) properly.

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us! It's such an interesting article!!! Good job Anna Gandrabura ?? Well, I won't lie that I should DEFINITELY read more often. But... the problem is that, lately, I'm having the strong feeling that I might have adhd, since I have "hyperfocus" pretty often and, on the other hand, for certain things I feel as if I couldn't pay attention to them for so long. So, I've been struggling with reading, and I'm usually studying through video. I'm a hyperactive person and I feel I can learn anything whenever I'm watching videos or listening to podcasts (maybe it might be my learning style? Idk). Anyway, the point is: I'm deeply looking forward to having my reading habits back (little by little ofc because I don't wanna overload myself). I truly think it can completely change someone's mindset for the better! Self-development is the most incredible thing someone can do to themselves. My motto is: be always 1% better than what you were yesterday.
