How many cheeseburgers can you buy with 100 likes?
I asked one of my customers, a CEO with more than 20 years business experience, why she has no Linkedin account and I got an unexpected answer:
“I closed my Linkedin account three year ago and here is why I’ve done this despite of having my profile ranked in the top 1% of my profession!
I understood that Linkedin is for Linkedin SEOs and CV writers, nothing there for you and me; real people are wasting their time chatting for nothing!
One cold call is more efficient than 20 posts and it takes much less time.. Linkedin’s Gurus will tell you what you want to hear.. They are dream sellers and people like you are necessary for their business.
You want advices? Get out of from there and do your homework in the real life. Business rules are the same and never changed, if you call me and visit me enough then I will buy from you.... this is the only branding you need to feed your family, anything else is B.S!”
Now I am wondering is there anyone who’s really getting clients or finding Job using LinkedIn or are we here just to feed this big and rich virtual machine?
If you have any selling success or job finding experience please share !
Too many people are lost in Linkedin and need to learn from your success story, please help!

6 年Well... I recently got contacted by a recruiting officer from a company having an opening for which I was judged to be a match. By an by I was scheduled for an interview, had to travel, was interviewed in about four different sessions, excelled in all and am currently in negotiation stage with the company. Not counting my chicks before hatching, but at this point if I end up not working for that company, the reason would either be due to the organisation having a better deal in someone else, or I not finding the offer a good enough deal for me; but certainly not because people don't get jobs through LinkedIn.

7 年I enjoyed reading this. The comments that I was going to make inspired me to write a longer piece that I hope your network engage with. I wonder if this has any impact on your views: https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/youre-wasting-your-time-chatting-nothing-linkedin-marcus-boswell/

7 年Probably you are right, Fouad Ridouane, but independently of the professional return, using and enjoying this network it's a great exercise which makes you think, learn new things, and it's always positive. It depends on the motivation to use it.
