How many calories in your sauces?

Over the years I have noticed when you ask someone what they had for lunch, they will say the main parts like; Chicken, chips and veg, but fail to mention the half tub of mayo on it.

Sauces have become something we love to have with our foods, but our minds blank it out when it comes to seeing what we have eaten and counting calories etc.

Of course, I am not saying you can't have sauces, not at all, what I am saying is to watch the amounts.

If you are on a fat/weight loss journey and you can’t work out why you are not achieving your goals each week and are still having sauces then check the amounts you have, you might be a little shocked in how much your calories jump up,

?Below I have done a breakdown of a few popular choices when it comes to sauces for lunches and dinners.?

?Tomato Sauce - 60 kcals

?Sweet Chilli - 89 kcals

?BBQ Sauce - 90 kcals

?Tartar Sauce - 105 Kcals

?Garlic Aioli - 255 Kcals

?Mayonnaise - 300 Kcals

?This breakdown is of a serving size of 3 tablespoons.

Also, this breakdown is only looking into calories, some of these sauces will be high in sugar and salts also.

So next time you are about to cover your food and plate with mayonnaise, think twice!
