How Many "C" Level Players Will Not Be Attending HIMSS17

As the big push to get ready for HIMSS17 in Orlando take over everything sane, I find myself in a place of peace and harmony at the notion I will not be attending. I attending my first HIMSS in 1986 and over the years have found its value to me and my organization to go up and down. I can't say that we won any huge contract due to attending HIMSS, but at the same time in some HIMSS circles its considered a must attend to be considered validated for a vendor and or even CIO's VP's or other "C" suite members.
But I think the later is changing as many of them simply go to the CHIME summit and skip the HIMSS conference all together. I wonder if smaller more focused conferences wouldn't provide greater value, but at the same time HIMSS is not incentivized to change as it needs the vendor community to be on the hook to pay exorbitant fees to have access to a captive audience.
So I'd like your feedback on if you are going or not going to HIMSS and if you are why and if you are not why not. Please be brief. Pass this on to your colleagues and connections as I'd like to get as wide of response as I can. This might not be scientific, but I think the responses will be interesting. In closing if your going remember to take a couple pair of comfortable shoes and if your not going may peace be with you!
