How many 89-year-old's do you know that ride motorcycles?!

How many 89-year-old's do you know that ride motorcycles?!

Today is the 8th of July. The fifth day of our 31 days of July challenge!

In my line of business, it's often taught that it's a numbers game - pun not intended!

If we make so many connections, then make so many phone calls, then host so many introductions, then present so many solutions, then we'll find X clients.

While this is absolutely correct, it makes the process feel mechanical.

However, we are not machines and not able to work non-stop.

So yesterday, Sunday, we took a day of rest!

As humans, we need time to recharge through daily sleep, and weekly if not daily relaxation.

We are not machines that can do the same few tasks consistently forever without fail.

It's just not who we are and we should not strive to be something we are not.

So today's lesson is simple.

Take some time to relax.

Take some time when you not feeling well.

Take some time when you need to.

The other stuff can wait for a short while and you'll be better equipped to go back to the task fresh and ready to go!

Spend that time with family.

I am so fortunate that my grandfather was able to visit for the 4th of July extended weekend.

Oh, did I mention he is 89 years old?!

Oh, did I mention he wanted to go on a motorcycle ride and easily threw his leg up and over the bike like nothing?!

He's a badass at 89 and I am so fortunate to know him!

He's able to do stuff like this because he takes incredible care of his body each day.

He rides a recumbent bike for about 10 miles each day, and has done this for decades!

But, he also remembers to rest and let his body relax!

If it's working this well for him at 89, imagine how well these habits can for us!

So here's to an incredible week ahead.

...and don't forget to take a bit of rest and relaxation along the way!
