How to MANAGE MULTIPLE PROJECTS?

Sooner or later every project manager has to go through this obstacle.

Here are 5 challenges which you need to address.

3. COMMUNICATION
4. CENTRAL REPOSITORY
5. CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION

Managing the plan and intergrated schedule

The key to managing multiple projects is to be as proactive as possible. Use a tool to manage separate project schedules at the same place. This will enable you to identfy potential risk/issues in advance.

Prioritization

You should perform a value assessment on your project portfolio to understand the value of each project and prioritize accordingly. This assessment should measure: Project risks, Alignment, Financial.

Communication

It’s important to communicate with your stakeholders and your project teams about your workload. This will help manage expectations and empower you to ask for additional support if you have too much on your plate.

Central reposatory

When your project information is buried across multiple spreadsheets on different platforms, that can make it hard to manage multiple projects. It can also lead to silos and double work.

Continuos optimization

Plan have to be reviewed regularly, in some cases on daily basis. Optimization refers to human resources, HW/SW or OPEX/CAPEX.

As a Project Manager you wanted to be effective and make a difference.

But how can we really do that?

Communication-Communication-Communication

They way you can make a difference is to listen more.

Project Manager try not to be the smartest person in the room.
