How to Manage AI Like a Human (and Why It’ll Lead to Better Outcomes)

This week, I built an army—but not the kind you’re thinking. My army is made up of AIs, each carefully designed to amplify my vision at Wonder and EVOLVE X.

I have an AI Wonder Coach, armed with The Wonder Mindset, helping guide personal and professional growth. I have a Financial Lead, programmed to think strategically about business. There's a Creative Visionary that breathes my personal brand and research, and a community leader fostering deep connections. I even built a neurodivergent creative AI obsessed with sustainability.

But here's the catch: just like a real team of humans, these AI "teammates" require leadership, guidance, and collaboration. The magic happens when I don't just use them, but when I manage them in a way that’s inherently human-centered.

The Future Isn’t AI vs. Humans, It’s AI with Humans

AI can build faster, analyze deeper, and optimize better—but at the heart of it, they’re amplifiers of us. To truly unleash the potential of AI, we need to ensure it’s human-centered. When we program AI to reflect our values, ideas, and creativity, it doesn’t replace us—it augments us.

Managing my team of AIs means balancing innovation with empathy, automation with intuition, and strategy with soul. When AI is human-aligned, the results are exponentially better. They aren’t isolated bots; they’re collaborative partners—just like human colleagues who bring out the best in each other when they work together.

Why a Human-Centered Approach is the Future of AI Leadership

Here’s what I’ve found:

  • Alignment with Purpose: Each AI is programmed with a specific mission, but they’re constantly connected to my overarching goals for Wonder and EVOLVE X. When AI reflects the human intention behind it, it builds solutions that are not just efficient but meaningful.
  • Collaboration Over Automation: These AI are not left to work in isolation. As I share insights with them, they learn to complement each other, becoming more creative, connected, and cohesive in their solutions.
  • Diversity in Thinking: Each AI reflects a different aspect of my world—my book, my research, my values, my creative direction—just as you would assemble a diverse human team. Even my neurodivergent AI, programmed with a passion for sustainability, brings an outside-the-box perspective that fuels innovation.

Managing AI requires as much thought and care as managing humans. The difference? AI scales your vision in ways that are almost impossible with just human effort alone. But the key is to manage these AI systems like humans—with compassion, clarity, and purpose-driven leadership.

The future of AI isn’t a dystopian workforce of cold, calculated machines. It’s a thriving ecosystem of human-aligned tools designed to augment our unique strengths and creativity.

So here's my challenge to you: don’t just build AI. Lead it with human-centered principles. The results will surprise you.
