Taking the leap into full-time entrepreneurship requires courage, strategy, and an unwavering commitment to success.

Today I'm sharing my personal journey of transitioning from my theme park career to building a thriving travel business, along with the key strategies that made it possible.

My hope is that by sharing these insights, you'll feel empowered to take decisive action in your own business journey.


Market Research is the Foundation

Understanding your market means connecting with your ideal clients' needs and pain points.

Through one-on-one calls and deep conversations, I learned exactly how to position my services to meet real market demands.

This research became the anchor of my business direction.

Action Steps:

  • Schedule one-on-one calls with ideal clients to understand their travel planning challenges
  • Document common phrases and pain points from these conversations
  • Create service offerings that directly address the needs uncovered


Revenue Stream Diversification

The reality hit me hard - relying on commission-only income wasn't going to cut it when I needed consistent monthly revenue (thanks pandemia).

I had to get creative and think beyond traditional travel planning services to create multiple income streams that would provide more immediate cash flow.

This shift in thinking opened up new possibilities I hadn't considered before.

Action Steps:

  • Implement or increase service fees to generate immediate income
  • Identify complementary services you could offer alongside travel planning
  • Create a pricing strategy that includes both immediate and delayed revenue sources


Strategic Networking

I quickly found that nobody succeeds in isolation.

I changed my mindset and started treating networking as relationship building rather than a sales tactic.

The connections I made became not just business opportunities but genuine partnerships that supported my growth.

Action Steps:

  • Join 2-3 industry-specific communities where your ideal clients gather
  • Schedule regular coffee chats with other entrepreneurs
  • Create a system to follow up and nurture professional relationships


Mindset Transformation

The transition from employee to entrepreneur required a complete mental reset.

I had to stop thinking like someone with a safety net and start thinking like a business owner who was fully responsible for their success.

Action Steps:

  • Set clear, impactful goals like meeting new people or expanding your services
  • Adopt the “feast or famine” mentality to keep pushing forward
  • Surround yourself with a supportive community that encourages growth


Taking Massive Action

Action always beats perfection.

Not saying that you should be sloppy either, but getting comfortable with being uncomfortable really pushed me to do things I'd never done before, and that might still feel scary today.

Action Steps:

  • Set a goal to meet new potential clients or partners this year
  • Create a content calendar to consistently share your expertise
  • Take one bold action each week that pushes you out of your comfort zone


The journey from employee to entrepreneur isn't always smooth, but it's incredibly rewarding when you commit to the process.

Persistence and quality, even when you start from scratch, make you sustainable at first and then profitable shortly after. There are challenges even when you achive high success so embracing what you love to do gives both emotional and financial success.
