Step 1. Sustainable production and products
Suppliers should be constantly working further to develop their products and production. The aim is to reduce CO2e emissions and improve the climate footprint of their trucks. The following measures have a positive influence on this:
CO2e-neutral until delivery
Greenhouse gases that are produced during material extraction, production and transport to the customer and cannot be avoided at present are offset by voluntary investments in climate protection projects. They should focus on projects that meet certain criteria and at the same time fulfil the high standards of respected organizations (e.g. Gold Standard, Ecovadis and Clean Development Mechanism). In addition, they should support only projects that have already demonstrably reduced emissions. For example, to invest in the expansion of renewable energies.

Use renewable energy sources: Ensure that the electricity used to charge your electric equipment comes from renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power. This will ensure that your equipment's emissions are truly CO2 neutral.
Optimize your operations: Optimize your operations to reduce the amount of time your equipment needs to run. This can include streamlining your processes, improving your inventory management, and reducing unnecessary movements of goods.
Monitor and measure emissions: Monitor and measure the emissions of your equipment regularly to ensure that they are in line with your CO2 neutrality goals. Use this data to identify areas where you can improve and make changes accordingly.

End of life & Second life
Suppliers should refurbish used trucks and make them ready for a second life. This is good for the environment and for our customers: In this way, they reduce their CO2e footprint, avoid waste and return raw materials to the cycle.?Through refurbishment, on average up to 99 percent of the materials can be returned to the cycle and valuable resources can be conserved.
