How to Make your LinkedIn Profile a Landing Page

You want your LinkedIn Profile to be set up like a landing page.

Your Profile should be SUPER NICHE, even if your content isn't.

I like to break all the normal rules of content creation, so I haven't niched down my efforts. I send a ton of traffic to my profile from ridiculous LinkedIn posts about bacon, whisky, wizards, and what have you.

It works and converts because my LinkedIn profile is set up like a landing page. So even if the topics I write about are numerous, I still convert the right clients because my LinkedIn Profile is set up like a landing page.

Here's how I've set up my LinkedIn Profile to be a landing page and a conversion machine:

I've broken it down into 9 steps for you, and let's start with the profile picture...

1. Add a High-Quality?Profile?Picture.

2. Create a headline using keywords in?your?niche.

An easy way to get some inspiration is to go see what your competitors are doing with their headlines. Just search industry-relevant keywords in the LinkedIn search bar and click on some competitors' profiles. This will help get your brain moving regarding what your headline needs to look like.

NOTE - Don't pay attention to competitors with crappy LinkedIn Profiles... Focus on competitors with at least 1k followers, and creator mode turned on.

3. Turner on Creator mode and select 5 hashtags in?your?industry.

Note: Select a few of the top trending hashtags to put in your profile, and select a few really targeted hashtags. We don't fully know how these hashtags affect your profile's reach yet but rumour has it that they help people searching specific keywords find you easier using the LinkedIn search bar.

4. Create a stylish?LinkedIn?Banner with a call to action.

5. Add a link to either?your?website or lead magnet.

Your link will get the most clicks if you use a good call to action, and it's enticing enough that people want to find out more. I like lead magnets in the LinkedIn Profile section for this reason.

6. Click add?profile?section and select "open to work" or "providing services."

This is a trick that not many people are aware of. It's hard to prove how effective this is fully, but I found an increase in profile views after I did both of the following actions.

It won't hurt you to add "open to work" and "providing services" to your profile, so why not add both and see if it makes a difference for you?

Select "open to work" and/or "providing services" to get extra reach to your profile and stand out to recruiters.

7. Add either?your?website / lead magnet / book a call to the featured section.

You want to give the good people visiting your profile multiple chances to check out what you do. This is why you need to add a few things to your featured section.

8. Update?your?about section to speak to?your?target audience.

9. Improve?your?social proof and ask for recommendations from clients / peers.

Easy to forget this part, but potential clients/buyers love to see recommendations and case studies. If you don't have clients/bosses willing to leave you recommendations you can also get some from industry peers who have taken advice/tips from you.

Note: Make sure these are real recommendations, don't get strangers to leave you a review.
