How to Make Your Demos Downloadable from Your Website

Casting directors need access to the actual audio files of your demos. If they reach out and ask for them directly, send the file(s) to them directly.

But they and other potential clients may choose to visit your website to download them instead. In such cases, you will want your demos to be downloadable - especially that Raw Home Studio Sample.

Here's how.

STEP 1: upload those audio files to a Google Drive folder.

STEP 2: set the SHARING permission of the FOLDER to "Anyone with the Link" so that the demos you upload to that folder automatically become publicly shareable.

STEP 3: Go into that folder, right-click on your demo mp3 file, then "Get link"

STEP 4: In the window that pops up, click "Copy link"

Then you'll get a link that looks like the one on the TOP :

The BOLD, UNDERLINED part is the unique identifier of that file. Simply edit the link so that it looks like the BOTTOM one.

STEP 5: Repeat for all the audio files in that Google Drive folder and save them onto a document somewhere. Keep track of which link is for which file!

STEP 6: Go to your website and apply that link to a "Download" element. For me, it's a download icon that sits underneath each audio player.

Publish/Save and you're done! When someone clicks that download icon, the browser will automatically download the mp3 to their desired download location.
