How to Make Your Contribution Visible

Going forward I shall be posting regularly. This is my commitment to myself and my accountability buddies. Some of my posts will be about mindset for self actualization, thriving in the midst of change and uncertainties. And some of my posts will be at the intersection of people, business, and technology. The post today is related to mindset.

Many of us work very hard all the time. This is so much so that we do not have any energy left to make ourselves visible. Nose in grindstone and hard work will speak for itself - those are not necessarily true. Relying soley on those do not work well. It should be a mix of work and marketing. Our lives are our marketing. We need to be a marketer first who happen to be in “XYZ” role [Credit: Darren Hardy, Grant C., Fabienne F.]. We have to be comfortable being uncomfortable in showing up, raising hands to participate and speaking up. This mode of living will not disappoint us in the long run. Massive growth will come because of it.

Below is a list of some strategies and shift in mindset that would support you in your professional growth. Credit goes to business growth architect Beate, Energy Healer Jeff Allen, and Rob K..

Do inner work for congruence between your words, desires, actions:

If those aspects of us carry different energy then we may end up getting what we do not want. Because lack of congruence dampens energy or nullify each other instead of creating resonance.

Say what you bring to the table:

Do not assume that people would naturally see your contribution and value. They are concerned about what impressions they are creating. They are concerned about what other people are thinking about them. Be your own sponsor.

Say and demonstrate that you are dependable:

Show that people can rely on you. If being reliable comes from the sense of goodness, ethics, morality etc. then that could work but sustaining that mode of thinking is a lot of work. What if it is part of our being? That would be effortless and inseparable from us.

Show how you would help others to do better in their roles:

Make it all about them (your audience or clients). Market and sell them their future greatness that would be catapulted with your support or coaching or consultation.

Practice and improve communication skill:

Rob Kiyosaki, Grant Cardone etc. place high value in communication. And the quote below shows why.

In strategic and business facing roles a lot of alignment conversation is needed. Effective communication is needed to make the audiences feel understood and to get buy in. Communication skill or lack there off can make or break initiatives.

Let’s change our thoughts:

Our thought energy even if it is subtle gets picked up by conscious and semi conscious people. Fully unconscious people are “closed” and would not pick the energy properly. They will stick to their assumptions, perceptions and knowing.

It is very important what narratives we have in our heads. If we do not value ourselves then nobody will. "In life we get what we tolerate". Let’s change our energy signature or vibration that we emit. Jeff Allen said -“Only sell the story that you want people to buy. Only buy the stories that make you feel good”. For more context have a look at: https://www.iamjeffreyallen.com/blog/the-power-of-your-thoughts-what-are-you-telling-and-selling-the-world And Jeff Allen used to be a Software Engineer. So many of us will find his stories and approaches very relatable.

Success depends on how good we are at energy management. If there is a gap between the vibration of our desire versus emotion then that delays the realization of the desire. Our feeling is our GPS. Feeling good increases our creativity, receptivity; heart mind coherence. In that state of coherence we have intensity in our emotion which glues the desire energy together into visible form. There are good explanations of this Dr. David Hawkins and Dr. Tara Swart's work.

To conclude, people would need to know that we exist and what value we can add to their lives. Let’s make ourselves visible and our potential known without feeling small /who do we think we are. Let’s be our own sponsors. Let’s bankrupt our smallness and limiting beliefs with self love and boldness. And self love is the most unselfish thing to do [credit: Anita Moorjani]. Question yourself why do you think you are not enough? Ask yourself why do you think you have to downplay? Ask yourself why do you have to play small and hide just not to let your light shine? Whom would it offend? Why that matters? Not expressing your gift and light are disservice and heavy on yourself. Why do you buy into the scarcity mentality that if you get opportunity then another person would not have any opportunity? (Peter Diamandis said it very well) The universe is abundant if we believe so. It can be a win win situation for all involved. There is enough for everyone. It is not a zero sum game. Let's make the most of our potentials.
