How To Make Your Business Kick Ass

Great headline, eh?

That’s probably one of the reasons you clicked through and started to read.

The fact is, the headline I used made you stop and click. And its things like this you need to do when promoting your business because it’s hard to get noticed.

By doing something a bit different, it makes people stop and have a look at what you have to say.

So, ready to make your business kick ass?

How To Make Your Business Kick Ass

When you first start your business, you may feel like a complete novice. It’s difficult to know who to target, how to target them and what tone to write in.

Here are some handy tips to get your business facing in the right direction and kicking ass!

How To Be Kick-Ass Rule #1: Be Yourself

Yeah, we’re all ourselves, but the first thing people do when they promote their business is talk like C3PO from Star Wars.

Nobody likes C3PO, not really. He’s functional, but most of the time he gets in the way, and that’s what stilted business speak does.

It gets in the way of your business booming.

This post is relaxed, and I’m slagging off C3PO.

It shows:

  • My personality
  • Humanises me, and
  • Makes me relatable

Don’t just regurgitate words like you’re reading from a very bland script (Phantom Menace, anyone?), just be yourself.

And honestly, isn’t the best part of Empire Strikes Back the moment C3P0 has his limbs ripped off?

Yes. Yes, it is.

How To Be Kick-Ass Rule #2: Talk To One Person

When you watch a Chuck Norris film, doesn’t he just speak to you as an individual?

The answer is yes because he’s Chuck Norris, don’t question it.

I know more than one person is reading this, but I use the word ‘You’, ‘You’re’ and ‘You’d’ a lot.

You is a magic word because it zones in on one individual.

It makes what you’re saying personal.

Don’t just take my word for it:

Which brings me on to…

How To Be Kick-Ass Rule #3: Don’t Bore People Talking About Yourself

You’re amazing. You’ve got Degrees, Diplomas and Keys to the City.

You’re bonafide awesome!

Customers care very little.

Open your website with a catchy first line. Make it funny. Make it shocking. Ask a question.

Whatever fits your brand, make it memorable.

Don’t make it all about you, or people will run a mile!

You're so clever. I bow down to your superior knowledge. Then I will learn from it. I love the visuals too. You made me laugh. Good for someone who is writing blogs about being happy. ???? PS. C3PO was a bit of a chump wasn't he?
