How to make your application stand out!

When you apply for a position, make it a point to reach out to the Recruiter/Hiring manager via a DM. However, don't just copy paste an long message summarizing your credentials. Give them a reason to really look into your profile. Make sure you stand out from the other 100+ applicants. A simple way to do it via something like this:

"Hey (insert name),
I just applied for the (insert position name) position you posted. Thought to introduce myself via this as well :)
Noticed you mentioned you're looking for someone with experience in (mention something specific in the job posting) and I happen to have done just that during my time at (mention previous company/position).
In fact, I was able to (mention an accomplishment), which resulted in (mention numbers).
If that sounds interesting enough, would love to chat more.
Cheers,
Jaafar"

This is just an example, but I hope you get the idea. Give them something to be curious about and also showcases *results*.

DMs should NOT be a thesis, they should be short and to the point, with just enough info to make the other person want to speak to you. Also, do not message with a "Hi" and expect a response. Your message should convey the reason you're messaging and the CTA.

P.S I know the chances of recruiters responding is slim, this is mostly due to the high volume of messages received and not indicative of you personally. Do not take it personally and keep trying :)
