We've all heard the Willie Nelson quote, "The early bird gets the worm." Well, you know what, it's true! From my perspective, it is. I remember, as a pre-teen getting up in the early am to help my step-father with one of the multiple jobs that he had.
As a youngster, I had money in my pocket for getting up early, and that may be why I've adjusted to becoming an early riser as an adult. Money never sleeps.
Do you find yourself always rushing? Are you one of those people who constantly complain that there is never enough time in the day? Do you need more energy during the day and feel unaccomplished?
These are all signs that you must try getting up at 5 am. Don't get me wrong. Getting up at 5 am can be challenging, as I remember when I lacked the motivation to leave my bed's comfort. It's well worth the effort, trust me. As a self-proclaimed sleep expert and writer, I've extensively researched this topic and have some practical strategies to share with you. I moved my wake-up time from 8 am to 6:30 am when I started adjusting my sleep schedule. Try that out. It worked out well for me.

Slowly changing your sleep schedule is vital to making this habit stick. It's essential to recognize that changing your sleep routine is a process that won't happen overnight. It is a matter of you being disciplined, turning off the tv, putting the cell phone down, and getting some good ole shut-eye.
My body now naturally wakes itself up by 4:30 every morning like clockwork. Waking up at 5 am daily has numerous benefits, from improving productivity to enhancing well-being.
My day is whack if I don't get out of bed and start being productive as early as possible. If you are new to the early bird routine, I recommend you get out of bed and immediately do either 15 jumping jax, 15 pushups, or 15 squats. How about doing a triple set?
That will get the heart pumping. I guarantee that you will be awake after that.
I have a pull-up bar that I attack as soon as I get out of bed, which usually does that trick. Cold showers work wonders, but we'll save that topic for another article.
