How to make a permanent record of your intellectual property for free
In days gone by intellectual property lawyers might advise posting yourself a letter with a description of your IP inside. Is this irrefutable proof? Probably not. In theory one could easily send an empty unsealed letter to yourself and at some point in the future stick anything you want into it and seal it.
Maintaining a meticulous journal of designs, product improvements and artistic creations along the road to invention is possibly a more thorough way of documenting your creations, but it is still open to challenge.
Today there is a better solution. Blockchain technology provides an irrefutable proof of activity with a date and time stamp. What's more, you can even add your identity to the blockchain as the inventor.
One solution addressing this problem is app.kwiksign.io which records any form of IP on a blockchain (drawings, designs, photos, videos and audio) with a date and time stamp and linked to your ID.
What's more. It's completely free.
