How to Make Movie Popcorn at Home
Covid has had an impact on businesses in all industries, including the entertainment industry. It would make sense that theaters had locked down as well. If going to the theater is not on your list, but you miss the popcorn, you can learn how to make your own for a quarter of the cost.
Start off by getting the right ingredients.
- Vegetable oil
- Popcorn
- Movie theater butter
- Flavacol
It would also help to buy a Whirly Pop which improves the whole experience.
In your pan, coat the bottom weigh vegetable oil. After that is completed, add a half cup of popcorn into the pan.
Next, put between a half to 1tsp of flavacol into the popcorn. Spread the flavacol over all of the popcorn as possible.
After that, stir the popcorn and Flavacol together to mix thoroughly.
Turn on the stove to a medium heat. I put my stove on 5, and it has been just fine. It could change based on what type of stove: electrical or gas.
As the popcorn starts to heat up, stir continuously to keep the popcorn from burning.
After a bit, cover the pan, but continue to stir until you start to hear sizzling and popping.
You may need to shake the popcorn if you are using the Whirly Popper along with mixing. This helps to keep it from burning.
Once you start to hear the popcorn pop consistently, turn off the stove and continue to shake or stir until the popcorn has stopped popping.
After the popcorn is finished popping, take the cover off. Finally, pour the popcorn into a bowl.
As an option, pour movie theater butter into your popcorn, and mix thoroughly.
Now go find a movie, game, or whatever the heck you like to do, and enjoy your new treat.
