HOW TO MAKE MARKETING EFFECTIVE:

The SBR Method: A 30-Day Commitment to Elevate Your Marketing Strategies

I have clients asking me every day: what platform works for marketing? Where should I be, and how do I make it work?

Well, the answer is there is not one answer. It depends on what you offer, who you are, and where your prospects are. It is also clear that random acts of marketing are entirely ineffective.

A robust marketing strategy is paramount for reaching and engaging potential clients in the dynamic business landscape. The SBR method—Sales, Building Relationships, and Retention—offers a comprehensive marketing approach, emphasizing the importance of commitment. A unique aspect of this method involves a 30-day commitment to the right fit platforms and a look back, enabling businesses to assess what's working and what needs adjustment.

Let's delve into this method, focusing on the two primary SBR strategies: Person-to-Person Marketing and Paper-to-Person Marketing. As we look at these various methods, we commit to the ones we can act on for the next 30 days.

Person-to-Person Marketing

Calls (Sales & Follow-Up): Embracing the 7% rule, where 7% of calls lead to a sale, is the first step. Craft a Differentiation Statement for your calls, ensuring brevity while maximizing impact.

Showcasing: Develop a one-sheet marketing piece tailored to a specific target group. Hosting free showcase events provides valuable information without a sales pitch.

Networking Events: Attend two targeted and specific events every 30 days to expand your reach and build meaningful connections.

Community Involvement: Give back by serving on a relevant board and utilizing your skills to make a positive impact.

Building Affiliate Relationships: Foster trust, alliances, and reciprocity with individuals and companies that align with your goals.

Video: Humanize your brand by putting a face and voice to your product or service. This builds a deeper connection and enhances credibility.

Paper-to-Person Marketing:

Digital Marketing: Stay current with contemporary strategies on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and blogs.

Inner Circle Strategy: Cultivate relationships with 5-25 key individuals, staying in touch every 30 days. This often evolves from the showcase strategy.

Direct Mail: Send targeted messages to 100 recipients every 30 days, incorporating a compelling call to action that encourages a phone call.

Website: Establish a strong online presence by showcasing your Differentiation Statement, testimonials, programs, and other relevant content.

Brochures: Develop informative brochures for networking events, highlighting examples of your products and services.

Marketing Kits: Compile a comprehensive set of materials, including services, articles, and brochures, to provide a holistic view of your offerings.

Emails: Leverage email communication for follow-ups, newsletters, introductions, and more. Ensure consistency with one e-newsletter every 30 days, using platforms like Constant Contact to track engagement metrics.

Businesses can achieve greater accountability by adopting the SBR method and committing to a 30-day marketing strategy. Regular evaluation allows for adaptive planning, ensuring that your marketing efforts stay at the forefront of your customers' minds. As you implement these strategies, remember that commitment is the driving force behind sustained success in the ever-evolving world of marketing.
