How To Make LinkedIn Your Free Marketing Channel ??

My bet is half of you are. And I just won’t have it anymore. You’re leaving too many chips on the table.?

So today’s gonna be a mini ted-talk on how LinkedIn can give you:?

  • A network you once dreamt of
  • A content machine that works while you party in Miami?
  • An online voice that teaches people while you shop for a Father’s Day Gift

Sounds like a pipe dream, but it isn’t.?

Cue the low-fi tunes and let’s jump into it…

Build An Inviting Profile?

Don’t build a LinkedIn profile people skip. You want to grab their attention in the first 3 seconds. Here’s how:

  • Use industry keywords in your headline

Keywords make you show up on search results and also give people insight into how could you help them.?

?? Bonus hack - Make yourself stand out by showing the impact of your work instead of merely writing what you do.?

  • Tell a story using your bio?

Your ‘About’ section is not your resume. It is a chance for you to tell people that you are someone they’d enjoy sharing a glass of something special with. ??

In 2-3 paragraphs you can share your story, why are you passionate about what you do, and who are you beyond your profile.?

More than skills, people want to trust your ethics. Give them that.?

  • Provide results and project links to build credibility?

In your “Experience” section, include results and action items that you’ve delivered for your company, startup, or side projects.?

If you have any pictures or links, make sure to include those to strengthen trust.?

Share Story-Based Content?

The Chauvet cave in France is the oldest representation of storytelling found thus far, dating to 36,000 years ago.

Let me repeat. 36,000 years ago someone cracked the code to inspire people and invite them to trust you with their time.?

Stories are the foundation of the entire media industry and have changed the course of history on countless occasions (Remember, “I have a dream”?).?

It would be not wrong to say that the world isn’t built on bricks, it’s built on stories.?

LinkedIn is no different.?

If you want people to engage with you, stories are how you invite them.?

  • Make a list own stories and share them with your community to start conversations?
  • Save visuals that uplift you and inspire you to take action in a folder and share them every once in a while to make others feel the same?
  • Keep note of your day-to-day learnings, insights and anecdotes and share them to connect with relevant professionals??
  • Watch for great stories being shared by other people and pause to share your perspectives on those through comments or give them your spin and share via your profile?

Help And Support Others?

Whether it’s a client you’re looking to get to know or an investor you want to build a relationship with, showing support, collaborating and celebrating others is the easiest way to go about it.?

Your profile and content build a sense of familiarity with your community but to actually build a connection, you need to take the initiative.?

Here is a 4-step formula to go about it:?

  • Message people who are aligned with your values, mission, interests or field of work?
  • Connect with people who you want to get to know more about or potentially collaborate with?
  • Interview someone either via writing or filming together to spread a good message?
  • Share meaningful and valuable resources and content that your community could leverage?

And voila!

By spending merely 20-30 minutes every day on LinkedIn, you can create the most powerful marketing funnel there is.?
