HOW TO MAKE IT IN LAGOS by Akanni Temiyato [PART 5]

It is a crime to fall in Love in Lagos if you don't have money. It doesn't matter if it is somebody or a passion, whatever it is you need money to really make things work. You need to be standing strong before you can carry another, you need to help yourself first before you can be there for anybody. Lagos is a selfish town so the earlier you learn to start thinking and acting for you, the earlier you get on the right path to making it in this city of great hustlers.

To be successful in the center of excellence you need more than one hustle. You at least need one to survive while you chase the job you have love and passion for. No matter how good you are at what you do just know in your head Lagos is the headquarters of superstars. Every common person you see in Lagos, is a celebrity from where they came from. Emeka might just be the best footballer on his Village's team, but he is running a big boutique at the Lagos Island Market.

To be a Lagosian killing it, you don't have to be static but dynamically fluid like water and rigid like Aso Rock. You don’t have to answer every challenge call or be there for everybody. Energy control and management is one of your must have to make a way forward for yourself. Do the things only you can do without hurting your stand and don’t be ashamed to ask for assistance when needed.

“How to make it in Lagos”, should be a compulsory course in every higher institution in Lagos State. Learning does not stop between the four walls of classes but only completes when you can apply your knowledge to practical solutions and getting real values back. Knowing how to use what you have is far more important than what you have in hand in Las Gidi. Really making wise moves with what you can do is your number one key start to embarking on your journey to making it in this crazy town Lagos.
