How to make an Excel sheet that cannot be edited

To make an Excel sheet read-only or uneditable, here are few methods you can apply:

First Method:

Go to File and then go to Info

After this, select Always Open View Only

Save the file. When others open it, they will be prompted to open it in read-only mode.

Second Method:

Click on the sheet you want to protect.

Go to the Review tab

Then select Manage Protection

When click on Manage Protection, in the right hand side, another box named Manage Protection will open, at first there will be an option Protect Sheet

There will be three options under it

For more security, select the second option i.e. Sheet Protection Password

When select this option, two boxes will appear. Set a password (optional) and confirm password.

Note: You can only type the password, if you On the Protect Sheet toggle button.

Type the password, you want and Click Save button

Note: Without the password, editing can not be possible.
