How to Make Decisions with Confidence

How to Make Decisions with Confidence

A few weeks ago, a student of mine shared a compelling post on LinkedIn that described the difficulties of making a decision when you arrive at a crossroads:

And I responded with the following comment:

Over time, I have learned that the amount of success you'll achieve in life or business is determined by the decisions you make or do not make.

And whether you realize it or not, indecision is a decision.

That's because deciding to stay in the same place and do nothing is a decision.

Realize, that whenever you arrive at a crossroads, your beliefs, values, and behaviors are being tested.

Yet, there are no crossroads, because if you truly believe, value, and behave like you're supposed to, then there is no decision to be made.

You already know what you need to do.

But, the question is simple -?are you courageous enough to do what needs to be done?

Ironically enough, this past week I arrived at a crossroads of my own.

This crossroads had been in my eyesight for over a year and I knew I could not avoid it.

And despite the recent growth in my business, something still did not feel right, and I just couldn't ignore this feeling any longer.

So much so, that I had trouble sleeping and spent several nights thinking and capturing my thoughts on paper.

Procrastination kicked in, and I delayed making a decision.

And excuses kept on popping up in my head like:

"I need more experience."

"I need more student testimonials.

"I need more time."

"I need..."

However, this was all a mind game and deep down inside I already knew my decision for this crossroads.

And to my surprise, when I made my decision, it was less stressful than I imagined it to be.

That's because, as I've said before, deep down inside I already knew what I needed to do.

You see, coaching is such a unique business because your professional growth is truly a result of your personal growth.

?

And for the past 10 years, I've made it my personal responsibility to read, invest in myself, and continually improve each day.

Furthermore, for the past 18 years (I started my first business at the age of 15 - I was a teen DJ), I've been building profitable businesses from scratch.

As a result, I've grown so much as a person and my entrepreneurial expertise has also increased substantially.

Both of?these have helped me become a better coach, which in turn has created even bigger results for my students.

And now that I've passed this most recent crossroads, I finally understand the true value of what I bring to the creator economy as a coach.

With that being said, there are some big changes coming.

So stay tuned for a big upcoming announcement about the?Solo CEO Club?and more.

And if you have an eye for details, you may have already noticed a few changes...

So remember, the next time you arrive at a crossroads, realize there is no crossroads.

Because the crossroads is an illusion.

You already know what you need to do.

But?are you courageous enough to do what needs to be done?

Until next time.

Very good article. I've recently found myself in a similar situation. I really like that you redefine a "crossroad" as a test of our values and if we are committed to our values there isn't really but one choice or "road". I dig it! ??

Love this - I remember I used to flip a coin with a friend when we didn't know what to do - but we always knew when the coin was flipping which side we wanted to land -
