How To Make Decisions In Ambiguity
Yesterday I worked with 2 smart individuals, each of which had a different way of dealing with the unstructured environment they are tasked with.
Because society usually pushes us in one direction or another, how do you make decisions in ambiguity when you don't have that framework to operate in?
Build your own decision tree.
- What is the most important anchor you need to feel like you are not operating in a vacuum?
- Why is the freedom you gain from operating outside the regular environment worth the additional mental strain?
- Who in your team can help you clarify your decision tree?
- When in the next week can you test your decision making check point to see if it helps you make decisions with more comfort?
- How will you take note of outlier choices you make on the fly that were good even though you didn't use the decision tree to see where you are getting better at making gut choices successfully?
