How to Make A Clipping Path Using Photoshop CS6
The clipping path is a technique in photoshop used basically for removing unwanted portion of an image or object or for changing the background of an image.
STEP 1
Place an image on your photoshop CS6 workspace and select the Pen Tool as shown in the image below.
Make sure the pen tool is set to path instead of shape on the top panel of your photoshop as shown by the red area below.
STEP 2
The pen tool is then used to select the portion of the object we wish to retain carefully as seen in the image below. Make sure to connect the ends of the selection.
STEP 3
We need to highlight the selected path by pressing the ctrl + enter button on your keyboard or the command + enter button for your mac OS.
The highlighted path is then transformed to a dotted path as shown below.
STEP 4
The mouse is then moved to the bottom of the layer panel where you find your layer mask option, as indicated by the red arrow in the image below.
After clicking on the layer mask option, the layer panel changes its appearance as seen below, which indicates that the path selected has been clipped.
After this has been confirmed, the unwanted or the unselected portion of the image which the yellow background of the image has been removed completely leaving only the portion of the image or object that is selected with the pen tool. The result is seen in the image below.
Note that is new white background means there is no background assigned to the new image.
STEP 5
A new background can then be assigned to the new image or the white background can still be retained as shown in the previous image. The next image below shows a new background for the image.
If your images are going to use an ecommerce website then you need to take help from a experienced company who are providing clipping path service.
