"People don't have to believe in what you're saying they have to believe YOU believe what you're saying" - Ed Mylett
In this video Ed gives us his 10 steps to making better decisions. Let's break down a few of them and how they relate to Real Estate.
1. Made With Certainty: Confidence breeds trust. When you make decisions with certainty, whether they're right or wrong is to be seen but your clients, team members, and people you interact with will feel more confident in your leadership. Trust your instincts and commit to your choices. Your clients need to feel like they are in competent hands and will have their back with confidence.
2. Speed To Lead: Avoid falling into the trap of overthinking and analysis paralysis. Recognize that delaying decisions shows a lack of confidence and can lead to missed opportunities. Aim to make decisions swiftly, seizing the best points of execution before they pass you by.
3. Effective Communication: Clear communication is key to ensuring that your decisions are understood and supported. Take the time to explain the reasoning behind your choices, explaining not only the process but why and how you came up with it. NEVER assume your clients or team knows why you made a decision or how to come to it. By articulating your process, you not only build trust but also foster alignment and collaboration within your team and clients.
Not every decision will be right, and that's okay. Learn from your mistakes, adapt, and keep moving forward. It's through both successes and failures that you gain valuable insights and grow as a leader. So, trust yourself, act decisively, and communicate openly!
