How to maintain the balance of the centrifugal fan?

Today we are going to discuss a very important topic: impeller balance.

Because perfect balance is not realistic, the balance of the fan impeller is very important. The uneven distribution of mass and various factors make balance necessary. There are two main balancing methods - static balance and dynamic balance.

Static balance involves a single correction plane, is relatively simple, can be identified in the gravity field, and is suitable for horizontally mounted impellers. Dynamic balancing involves two correction planes, which is more complex and requires a balancer to calculate the correction mass, and is suitable for impeller with a large height to diameter ratio.

According to the relative position of the axis of rotation and the main axis of inertia, the following types of rotor unbalance are distinguished:

1. Static imbalance: When the axes are parallel. In order to eliminate this imbalance, static balance is carried out.

2. Instantaneous unbalance: when the shaft intersects at the center of mass of the rotor;

3. Dynamic (mixed) unbalance: when the axes intersect or do not intersect outside the center of mass but cross in space. Both transient and dynamic unbalance are eliminated by dynamic balancing.

To balance the fans, CONNFAN uses high quality equipment that meets all requirements and standards, thus achieving the required level of balance.

The correct balance can reduce vibration, reduce noise, extend bearing life, ensure smooth operation and avoid resonance vibration. Neglecting balance results in increased vibration, increased wear, increased risk of failure, downtime, shortened life and increased noise.

Select Quality - select CONNFAN!
