How Machines interacts like a?Human?

Yeah, you guessed it right..! Natural Language Processing is the secret recipe for the process.

What...?? But how can a machine be so efficient to interact like a human? That’s what we’re going to discuss in this blog. Let’s get into it.

Natural Language Processing

Natural Language Processing is a field of study which helps the computer to understand the languages, human speaks. In simple words, NLP extracts useful information from the junk of garbage. Natural Language Processing plays an important role in Artificial Intelligence. 

Fine..! But how can it be helpful in Real world..?

Most of the data available on the internet are in the unstructured format like tweets, comments, posts, chat messages, etc. A study states that by the year 3000 the unstructured data takes lead on 75% of the total data available on the internet. Only 25% of the data will be in a structured format.

Unstructured data cannot be used to analyze and process the data. We have to convert them into structured data by scaling the unstructured data into useful information. And that’s where NLP begins its play. NLP does a very good job of converting these unstructured data into a structured one.

Let's discuss some practical stuff

Okay, enough theories. Let's get our hands dirty. Now I have a question for you. Let's take an example of searching for Barack Obama’s birthplace. How can it be done?

  • Tony : Where was the former president of the USA born?
  • Cap : What is the birthplace of the 44th president of the USA?
  • Bruce : Where did Barack Obama born?

Yeah, yeah I know, ??

YOU CAN DO THIS ALL DAY

In the above search texts, the root information is the birthplace of Barack Obama, right? We, humans, know that these 3 queries answers are the same. But, how does a computer know it? Well, that's where the NLP magician comes in and does the magic.

NLP extracts the root information from the search queries and feeds it to the search engine to get the accurate results. Don't panic, we're going to dig this a little deeper in the upcoming articles.

Okay, So What are the challenges NLP faces on doing these kinds of stuff. That's the topic for the next article.
