How To Lose Clients

Like most entrepreneurs, Leah’s business was also born out of her passion to help others. She is excellent at her field and has a strong customer focus.

Leah had to hire, as running the business solo was not an option any longer. She now had a good-sized team to service her clients.

She is a natural marketer and had been working hard on the marketing side of his business. She invested a considerable amount of time and money on branding, had a great website, and was on top of her game with SEO that drove great traffic to the site.

The leads were flowing in, and her company was seen everywhere.

The sales department did a decent job to close sales. However, the revenue each quarter did not reflect the success of the marketing and sales departments.

Her team worked hard, putting in long hours. The final product did not reflect the number of hours worked. There were kinks in the team's service delivery.

Clients were unhappy. Client satisfaction was at its lowest.?And each time a client complained, the service improved for that client for a short time, at the detriment of others.

Eventually, Leah started to lose clients.?Despite her excellent PR skills and investing in new quick-fix systems, she could not hold on to them much longer.

News of her poor service delivery also spread, and she could not attract quality clients anymore.

Does this sound familiar?

Unfortunately, this is all too common in an organisation. As business owners, we end up focusing so much in an area that other aspects of the business suffer.

I'm sure many of you have heard the old saying, "you can't build a house without a foundation." Well, the same is true for business. You can't expect to succeed if you don't put in the time and effort to create a strong foundation.

Over the years, I also spent a considerable amount of time and energy on various systems for my business. Systems to help with marketing, sales, operations - I tried them all, at different times! And while some of my efforts yielded results, others didn't quite produce the ROI I was hoping for.

But here's the thing: it's not that these systems were wrong or ineffective. They just weren't done right and were not aligned to my vision, or to each other. Without a strong foundation, throwing time and money at them is fruitless.

To create a successful business, you need to have a holistic system in place.

yes i relate. to the biceps comment ???? when i was gyming ?? didn’t like to and therefore did not do too much squats ?? At work, functionally I think Well Being, Lessons Learnt (not just Lessons Identified), and Communication coaching are all areas which don’t get ‘worked out’ as much as they should.
