How To Lose 100% Of The Jobs You Apply For

There may not be a 100% sure way to land a job, but there are a number of 100% sure ways to lose jobs you apply for.

Some of these methods cause your resume to be blocked by resume pre-screening databases (Applicant Tracking Systems), others will get you screened out by recruiters/HR, and still others make hiring managers take a pass on you.

You might think that a job seeker must be pretty misguided to use these methods, but you'd be surprised at who uses them.

These are strategies that are also taught by outplacement, many career coaches/authors, used by professional resume writers.

And there's a good chance you've used these too ...

How many of these ways to lose 100% of the jobs you apply for, do you use in your job search?

• Sending non-customized resume templates
• Including light customization to your resume (15-20 minutes)
• Using formatting that doesn't work well with Applicant Tracking Systems
• Creating a confusing first impression in your resume
• Describing yourself as qualified

And while this one isn't technically 100%, it will screen you out about 99% of the time

• Applying for jobs online
