How Long Would You Wait?

How Long Would You Wait?

Nothing has any value until it is compared to something else! (Law of Relativity)

Is 5 years too much? Isn't it all relative?

We’ve all lived long enough to answer, from our own unique perspective, how long is “too long” to ‘want’ something and wait for it.

Edwin C. Barnes of course comes to mind. He’s the character in Think and Grow Rich that road ‘blind baggage’ to meet Edison and ‘put him on notice’ that he was there to be Edison’s partner!

And you may recall that during the 5 years he worked in Edison's lab, waiting for the right moment, he continued to refine his ‘vision’ of what partnering with Edison would look and feel like.

If you look back over your own life, are there specific times when you’ve waited 5 years for something you've wanted very much? And maybe more than one even?

Because ideas are referred to as ‘spiritual seeds,’ they are governed by the Law of Gender or Gestation, which is not governed by our ‘human’ concept of time.

We can use our Time to calculate when corn will sprout with the right nurturing -- yet not for our dreams!

That’s up to the Universe and frankly, our impatience and our belief that our human ‘time’ concept works for the Universe, is what has almost everyone give up and ‘drop their dreams!’

But as you also know from the new book Three Feet From Gold and the story about R.U. Darby panning for gold in the mid 1800’s, you know he failed to ask an expert WHY the gold vein ‘dried up.’

He proceeded to sell his equipment to the site junk man and that junk man hired a geologist! Voila! That’s when it was revealed that in ‘just three feet’ the gold vein would again appear.

Consider however that most imminent successes are scrapped ... just ‘3 feet from gold.’

What about you?

Have you given up on a dream and seen another pull off your idea?

That's typical because spiritual seeds recirculate. If you don't act on them -- someone else will!

Five years seemed like a long time to me too, until I got ‘on the other side’ of it.

It seems to me that time ‘in front of us’ is filled with depth, heights, form, color, worry, excitement, and has plenty of meaning.

Yet when standing in the present moment looking backward, time seems to be ‘flat’ for me and has no form, depth, or shading of any kind. It’s just gone, isn't it?

Here are two examples of how I remained persistent for 5 years and held the visual image of what I wanted consistently.

I never worried about ‘WHEN’ it would happen – just that I wanted it very much -- Why. I took small actions toward that end. I was always ready and listening for my next step.

Example 1:

2004: Fell in love with a home overlooking a small lake.

2005: Attempted purchase; credit disallowed. Best friend purchased it.

2006: Attempted purchase of same model, same street; credit disallowed.

2007: Best friend became very ill. Late that year she died.

2008: Did not drive down the street by the home for one year after her death.

2009: A year later, drove by. Sign for sale had just gone up. Purchase complete at $100k below market value!

Example 2:

2005: C-level exec assistant for start-up company in RTP.

2006: Company sold and stayed on as office manager.

2007: Minimal work, unhappy, picked up by company global training department.

2008: New supervisor in NJ learned of my love for personal development.

2008: Dream of a lifetime: Attended 10 year corporation anniversary in Tel Aviv for one week celebration.

2009: Supervisor arranged with VP HR in Tel Aviv to use my online elearning program (improving top and bottom line) “navigating the performance gap and raising the bar” for all employees.

2010: Year 6 I am headed to train administrators in Tokyo, Shanghai, and New Delhi for the company.

The WATCHWORD: Never give up on your dreams.

This kind of results is what people experience when working with me over several months to create a new Belief and with ...

the Faith in themselves and our Universe that they can do anything they wish, while not violating the rights of another, and ... they do Not have to know How to achieve it!

And the Belief that they are Deserving of living life with a mindset of "wealth, health and happiness" every day, rather than as a goal out there, some day some where some how.
