How to be long-term happy

Happiness is a slippery fish, grabbing hold of it is a little different for us all.
But life is different. When you put aside certain things you can't control - like the world's biggest lotteries; your genetics, where and when you were born, and who your parents are... we are all given approximately the same amount of life to live. It varies across the world, but it's roughly 80 years.
Whilst there's no exact formula for happiness... there are plenty of clues out there on how to be a person who had a life well-lived. When you put them together, they look a little like this:
1) Health: be the owner of a healthy body that moves, breathes, stretches, sweats, and is free from pain and discomfort.
2) Family + community: belong to something, somewhere, and some people.
3) Work: find work with people you like, who make you laugh, that that uses your strengths and stretches you a little each day.
4) Excitement: make sure you always have something to look forward to, and people you love to look forward to it with.
5) Contribution: contribute to something bigger than yourself. e.g. charity, art, creativity, children/ the next generation, building a business, impacting culture.
