Are you a business that sells to local consumers? Dramatically increase traffic to your website with the tactics below!
1) Google My Business: Perhaps the most important factor for locally ranking your website in 2019. Claiming and optimizing your Google My Business listing will dramatically increase your presence amongst consumers who are in your geographical area. Respond to customer reviews, post photos/videos of your company's happenings, and share any promotions/specials that you're currently running. The more active you are, the better you'll rank!
2) Bing Places For Business: Similar to the above point, Bing also has a business directory. By claiming your listing and including the necessary information will be another green signal as search engines are evaluating your website.
3) Local Keywords: Use the name of the city that you're located in and other similar keywords across each page of your website. Make sure to include it in the Meta Data as well, including page titles and descriptions.
4) Local Backlinks: Find ways to link to other businesses that are located in your area, and make an effort to receive inbound links from those same companies and organizations. When Google sees this happening, it recognizes you as a trustworthy entity.
5) Local Citations: Yelp, Manta, and Local.com are just a few examples of the many online directories that you can submit your website to. The more of these you have claimed, the more authority your website receives from search engines.
6) Mobile-friendly: Last, but CERTAINLY not least, is having a website that is responsive to all devices including mobile, desktop and tablet. Notice that mobile is listed first, as Google is now indexing the mobile version of websites before desktop in some instances. Go mobile or go home.
