How to Live a Life of Excellence

There is a distinction between achievements and success which we need to realise if we want to live a life of favourable results. While achievements focuses on what we have done compared to what others have done, success focuses on what we have done compared to what we could and should have done.
?
In other words, achievements zeros in on past glory while success is about maximizing your innermost potential.
?
Therefore, while achievements are useful for self-actualisation, I do believe that success is as important, if not more, for us to maximiser and fulfill our potential.
?
From the work I do as an inspirational speaker and a business-executive-life coach, it is evident that success (based on the definition that I quoted above) is paramount for us in establishing that sense of fulfillment.
I believe for us to live a successful live, we must be willing to live a life of excellence. It was Aristotle that reminds us that, “We are what we repeatedly do... excellence, therefore, isn't just an act, but a habit and life isn't just a series of events, but an ongoing process of self-definition.”
For us to live a life of excellence, I suggest these following three keys.

1)??? CLARITY IN YOUR PURPOSE
I believe that one of the single most important element in developing a life of excellence is?clarity of purpose. This clarity drives us, moves us, and gives us the power to stand when we face adversities, which we are bound to have. This clarity of purpose allows us the courage to take on a mountain that is for us to climb. In fact, if I may dare say, this clarity of purpose may be the single most important element in a human’s life for him to attain his success.
2)??? OVERCOMMIT TO YOUR GOALS
While many may be comfortable and familiar in how to set goals and even achieve them, few may know how to use goals by overcommitting to your goals.
What exactly does it mean to overcommit to your goals? It simply refers to doing things in a manner that is “… able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”.
3)??? KEEP GROWING
For us to live a life of excellence is to continually remind ourselves of the need to keep on growing. The ideas of growth comes from 3 areas and any of these, if not all, can be powerful vehicles of growth.
The first can be the pain of the present which we want to get out of and therefore, you seek growth. The second can be the fantasies of the future which we want to aspire towards and therefore, we seek growth. And lastly, the third can be the phantom of the past which we want to erase and replace and therefore, we seek growth.
