While many people have embraced the treasures of LinkedIn, others are still figuring out how to use the Platform effectively.

Questions upon questions pop out every day in my inbox about clarity on LinkedIn and I felt putting all my knowledge in a book will be the solution to these FAQs.


This is why I published a book titled "How LinkedIn Works; Attract Your Target Audience and Build Authority"

In this article, I going to share one of the topics I enjoyed writing about in the book which is- a deep dive into the LinkedIn platform.??

LinkedIn is a professional networking platform that allows you to connect with other professionals, find jobs, and advance your career. It is a powerful tool for job seekers, recruiters, and professionals looking to expand their network and build their professional brand.

So, how exactly can you get the most out of LinkedIn?

  1. Complete your profile: The first step in using LinkedIn is to create a?profile. A profile is a representation of who you are on the platform and it is used to showcase your professional experience, skills, and interests. You can add information such as your job title, education, profile photo, self-summary and work experience.
  2. Build your network: Once you have created a profile, you can start building your network by connecting with other professionals. You can connect with people you know, such as colleagues, classmates, friends, as well as with people you do not know, such as recruiters or potential employers. Connections can be used to expand your professional network, increase your visibility on the platform, and open up new opportunities.
  3. Share valuable content: This is a great way to establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry or field on LinkedIn. When you share high-quality, relevant content, you demonstrate your expertise and build trust with your network. You can share articles, updates, infographics, text posts, video posts etc.
  4. Participate in groups: Groups are communities of professionals with similar interests or working in the same industry. You can join groups that align with your interests or industry, participate in discussions, share knowledge, and connect with other members. This feature is an excellent way to expand your network, and professional brand and learn from others in their field.
  5. Utilize LinkedIn's tools: Take advantage of LinkedIn's tools and features, such as LinkedIn Learning, LinkedIn Jobs, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, to help you learn new skills, find job opportunities, and connect with potential customers.
  6. Be consistent: Being consistent is key to getting the most out of LinkedIn. Consistently engaging with your network, sharing valuable content, and participating in groups will help you establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry and build a strong professional network. Here are a few ways to be consistent on LinkedIn:

  • Set a schedule: Schedule time each day or week to engage with your network, share content, and participate in groups.
  • Share regularly: Share content regularly to keep your network engaged and establish yourself as a thought leader.
  • Engage with your network: Respond to comments, messages and connection requests, and actively engage with others' content.
  • Participate in groups: Actively participate in groups by commenting on posts, starting discussions, and sharing relevant content.
  • Be authentic: Be authentic and genuine when engaging with others, sharing content, and participating in groups. People are more likely to connect with you if they perceive you as real and trustworthy.

By being consistent in these activities, you can build a strong reputation and professional network on LinkedIn, which can help you to advance your career and grow your business        


In conclusion, LinkedIn is a powerful professional networking platform that offers a wide range of features and functions to help users achieve specific goals.
