HOW LINKEDIN NEWSLETTERS WILL GROW YOUR BUSINESS AND WHEN TO REMOVE SOMEONE AS A CONNECTION

HOW LINKEDIN NEWSLETTERS WILL GROW YOUR BUSINESS AND WHEN TO REMOVE SOMEONE AS A CONNECTION

If there has ever been a feature you need to get dialed in with, it's the new "LinkedIn Newsletter" feature that is slowly rolling out.

These are articles on steroids!

A LinkedIn Newsletter is something every business owner should and needs to have right now.

Here are 4 reasons why you need to start one ASAP:

1. Sends out an invitation automatically to your contacts to subscribe:

This allows you to build an organic audience right away.

My newsletter has 2000 subscribers in only the first 24 hours.....Take advantage of it.

2. Emails them personally when you produce a new Newsletter:

We always talk about visibility and organic reach, and this my friends is the optimal way to do it.

Now that LinkedIn allows you to publish a newsletter and simultaneously have it pushed out to those who have subscribed, makes it an absolute game changer.

3. Allows you to build trust a rapport daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly:

Your frequency will determine how quickly you can build the "know, like and trust" factor with your audience.

My recommendation is to publish weekly or bi-weekly to stay top of mind.

4. Adds to your credibility:

We are all looking for way to build out our credibility.

A fantastic way to do so is to have a reputable newsletter that educates and informs your growing audience.

Now let's talk about when to remove a connection on LinkedIn:

It was no surprise to me that when I posted my poll on Wednesday, that the majority of those who voted ( 46% ), most disliked how people spam messaged them on the platform.

What I wanted to go over with you all, are the 3 scenarios where you want to either ignore or remove someone as a connection.

So here are the 3 instances where you want to remove someone as a connection on LinkedIn, or not accept a connection at all.....

  1. If someone adds you as a connection and includes a note the sells you and is pitching you, hit the ignore button asap. That is not the type of first interaction you want to have with someone you don't know.
  2. Immediately disconnect from your new connection if you are pitched and sold to in their initial connection message. No one likes to be sold to or pitched to, therefore, that person is not a value added connection to have. Simple go in and remove them as a connection.
  3. Immediately disconnect from a new connection if you get an automated response upon hitting the "accept connection" button. Anyone that is trying to automate human connection is not interested in building true, genuine and meaningful connection. They are more in alignment with "spraying and praying". Also, anyone who is using an automated tool that is connecting and messaging for them, is actually violating the "user agreement" of LinkedIn.

Here are my questions:

  1. Are you going to start a LinkedIn Newsletter?
  2. How often do you remove connections on LinkedIn and why?

thanks for sharing!

I have my own newsletter to my email list. How is this different? this is on Linked In with LI contacts only so they are not subscribing to my email list. So would I post an article as a newsletter now? And how do you let your contacts know? Thanks Scott for your wisdom!

I posted my first newsletter today ?. Could you confirm, does it go to all my contacts? And if so, do they need to accept or agree to receiving more?

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I have to recognize I am not active removing contacts like the ones you mention that by the way I get very often. To answer your first question, I'd love to start a LinkedIn newsletter. Thank you. Carlos
