How to Leverage LinkedIn

Hi! You're here!

You're receiving an extra edition of this newsletter this week because I think LinkedIn is a fantastic platform, and I'd love for you to learn about it and make the most of it.

If you're getting this newsletter, you're probably on LinkedIn, which is a terrific start. I've been on LinkedIn for at least a decade, but I thought it was just a place to store my résumé online. You know, just in case the employer of my dreams happened to be scrolling by - they would see my profile and be compelled to reach out.

That never happened. Surprise!

Last year, I supercharged my connections. I went from 300 to 1300+ connections on the platform in less than one year. My most-viewed post is at 90K views. ??

How did I do it? I began to leverage the platform.

There are 800 million people on LinkedIn, and only 2% post daily. That's an insane opportunity.

Building an inspiring community takes time. I knew that I wanted to write full-time, and I saw other writers using LinkedIn to create conversations, test headlines, and topics for full-length articles. I saw the possibilities. I knew that I would spend some time learning, and I knew that I would be posting for a while and getting only a few likes. I was okay with that.

Suppose you're not a writer, no worries.?(I was not a full-time writer as I began building my community here.) You can use LinkedIn to turbocharge your connections too. It doesn't matter if you're a leader, a teacher, wellness advocate, CEO, retail manager, or yoga instructor. Every profession has its community. When you begin to use LinkedIn and post regularly, you find your cool group of people that gel with what you're doing.

It's super rad. It's organic reach at its best.

I've made super-cool connections here, and I've been presented with opportunities I never would have found anywhere else. All I did was post once a day and interact with other people I liked.

When I began studying LinkedIn, I took a course from Tim Denning & Todd Brison. Tim has been using LinkedIn forever. He uses it to test content ideas for other platforms. He also studies and catalogs posts. (I know, right?) He spends a crazy amount of time learning about what really works here. He's done it, so you don't have to.

I watched these lessons during my breaks and after work. They're broken up into digestible amounts of information so you can learn it and apply it as you go. You also get to work alongside other students that are learning too. The community is really fun! Trust me, I'm in it too.

If you want to up your LinkedIn game this year and your career, Tim & Todd just launched their new course.

They have made three mini-lessons available for FREE.?You can check them out here.

If you want to head straight to the landing page and read all about it,?this link will take you there.?

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about the classes, LinkedIn, or my journey. I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Have a great rest of your week, enjoy the weekend (even if you're working...retail people, I see you), and I'll see you here again on Tuesday with another leadership article.

Take care of each other. You got this. ???
