How Learning and Development Can Celebrate International Women’s Day
The United Nations began celebrating International Women’s Day in 1975, which it designated International Women’s Year. Since then, businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals have been using the day as an opportunity to highlight women’s accomplishments and shine a spotlight on the road to full equity that still lies ahead.
For businesses wanting to advance women into leadership positions on IWD and all year, the learning and development function can lead the way, both by example and by developing effective leadership development programs. Last year on #IWD2018, Training Industry released a report that included findings on the discrepancies between men’s and women’s leadership development programs as well as recommendations for training and coaching programs to bridge the leadership gap.
Today, for #IWD2019, we are excited to offer this important report for free. Just visit this page, click “Buy the report,” and use discount code IWD2019 to download the report. In return, we ask that you start implementing the tips and strategies included in the report to make your organization a more equitable and effective workplace.
Happy International Women’s Day!
