Building connected, creative Jewish communities. | Organizational strategy, digital marketing and communications, program/experience design, and more. | CEO & Principal, Tiny Windows Consulting
I know there are a lot of Jewish organizations out there use their social media channels just for advertising your events and other opportunities. And hey, I get it. You want to reach people! You want to get tushes in seats. You have revenue goals and membership goals and bigger things to think about than social media. I really, really get it. And. I want to encourage you to think for a minute about why YOU engage on social media. Is it to hear about events? Maybe! It's probably mostly to keep up with friends and discover fun things you care about, though, right? The same is true for the folks you seek to serve. Here's the thing (that's always been the thing). Social media is social first, media second. It's about people and conversations. Can you imagine walking into a room and the *only thing* anyone is doing is inviting you to events? Putting flyers on your car and in your mailbox? Handing out their business cards? Yikes. But when you walk into a room and folks are discussing things that interest you, too, you have an in. An entrypoint. A reason to engage. Tiny Windows has been working with the Jewish Grandparents Network for a while (and they're so lovely). We've grown their social media presence, their email list, and their engagement in events and with partner organizations. And we do it by sharing things their community cares about first, THEN inviting folks to get involved more deeply. Here's an example. Every once in a while a post we share on their Facebook Page gets a lil' viral action. This one, in the snapshot below, was a big hit - and understandably so. It's a birthday post, an opportunity to send well-wishes to another Jewish grandparent (this one happens to be a 103-year-old Holocaust survivor and former Olympian, nbd). Because we shared (and consistently share) content that our audience cares about, it got traction. And, as is the way on Facebook, traction begets traction. Suddenly it wasn't just the Facebook Page that was getting engagement. It was the Group, too. And once folks are in the Group, we can start having richer conversations. We invite them to events. We get them on the mailing list. And so on. It's a journey. I know you want to share your events. Believe me, I get it. But think about how relationships happen. It's not usually with a cold invite. More often, it's with a warm conversation. ***** Hey, need help using your comms to build a sense of community in your Jewish organization? I'd love to hear your story! Let's grab a time to chat: https://lnkd.in/g_yUdDPx

Think of it as social networking in action! Whether it’s icons like Mark Victor Hansen, with his 59 New York Times bestsellers, or Todd Stottlemyre, a three-time World Series champ, highlighting others elevates your content—and your reach. If you’re aiming for more engagement, start giving credit and tagging those who inspire you. You’ll be amazed at the results! ?? #PostingParties #NetworkingPower #SocialMediaTips #CommunitySupport #StrongerTogether

I like to surf more than I like to work | Visual Storytelling | Brand Strategy | Video Production | Founder & Creative Director at MAG
Why would anyone care about a small event like the West Palm Beach 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb? After all, it’s just another local gathering, right? Wrong. This event honors heroes. It brings a community together. It turns memories into action. But here’s the kicker: In just 10 days, they sold out all their tickets. Here’s how we did it: - Focused on Instagram Reels - Created emotionally charged content that resonated deeply. - Leveraged sponsors to amplify our reach. The results? - 300 tickets sold. - Over 30,000 impressions. - A 53.4% increase in reach. Not bad for a “small event.” But it wasn’t just about the numbers. It was about community. It was about honoring those we lost. It was about building something lasting. And that’s exactly what we did. Lessons learned: - Short-form content drives engagement. - Early audience interaction is critical. - Influencer collaboration multiplies impact. Next steps? We’re already planning for next year. The bar is set, and we’re aiming higher. PS. Want to be a part of something meaningful? Stay tuned for this year's 2024 West Palm Beach 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
