Three strategies to turn you from Linkedin zero to Linkedin hero.

On Linkedin, there’s a great deal of opportunity and it’s available for all, but particularly for people in B2B marketing. It’s one of the most important marketing channels right now and even though it started as a platform for people to get jobs, it has evolved into something new.

People started connecting with each other and it became a way to meet people, but now it’s a content platform and the organic reach is off the charts. Growing on LinkedIn is all about engaging with others and publishing content continuously, so let’s learn how to do that.

How to Engage Through LinkedIn

Engaging with others allows you to be a part of the community and there are many ways you can do this. One of those ways is following the £1.80 strategy. This means that you should find 90 posts every day that are relevant to your business and leave your “2 pence” in the comment section. 90 x .02 = £1.80, that’s the strategy.

The key is to leave genuine comments. For that to happen, you need to engage with the content. Finding these 90 posts is easier than you think. Just start following people that are relevant to your industry and the things you want to learn. You can also search hashtags or look into the “today’s news and views” section on LinkedIn to find something you like.

Another strategy you can use is the High School Party strategy. Everyone has known someone that wasn’t quite popular but managed to become popular by doing something simple: throwing a party. The same thing can work on LinkedIn.

Simply host a small in-person event for people with similar interests as your target clients. Reach out to them individually, target an ad to a specific location, or post organically. What’s important is that you get everyone together and that they remember it was you who made it possible. All the people you invite will be easier to convert, along with their connections, and they’ll become clients soon enough.

How to Publish and Promote Content on LinkedIn

Publishing and promoting content is key if you want to reach people organically on LinkedIn. There are of course many different ways to do that. One of those ways is to create a hero film.

Hero films are signature films that will help you determine what people think of your business. If they’re done right, they can change the trajectory of your company on their own, bringing in clients by the bunch and spreading the word about what you have to offer.

Here's a great example:

Another great thing you can do is start a niche podcast, which is similar to the High School Party strategy and has incredible benefits. To do this, you need to create valuable content. This is what will make your podcast grow and help you build a reputation as a leader.

We recommend you invite the executives of the companies you want to work with. Not just because this will allow you to start a relationship, but also because they will provide valuable information.
