How to land more opportunities using LinkedIn

The recent layoffs and restructuring have left many of my friends and ex-colleagues without a job.?
I am coaching a few of them and I want to share what is helping them land jobs through LinkedIn.
Here is a detailed guide:
1. To enhance your presence on LinkedIn, ensure your profile is kept up to date. According to LinkedIn's blog, members with a profile picture are 14 times more likely to receive page views, and those who list their skills are 13 times more likely to have profile views.
With over 45,000 skills to choose from, regularly update your profile, include a profile picture, and showcase your notable skills to grab your target company’s attention.
2. For effective job hunting on LinkedIn, provide a comprehensive overview of your current skills and objectives.
Don't leave anything out; use your headline to convey your primary objective when appropriate, and include all your skills on your page.
Avoid giving the impression that your page hasn't been updated recently, as this could deter recruiters and companies.
3. Make sure your recent experience is prominently displayed on your profile, especially when actively engaging with connections and companies to secure a job.
4. Revamp your headline to make it stand out. When people search on LinkedIn, they only see your photo, name, and headline. Create a headline that clearly defines your role or the type of position you're seeking.?
5. Expand your network to the 1st degree. Leveraging connections can significantly boost your exposure and access to other professionals. LinkedIn simplifies connecting with people you know by allowing you to import your contact lists from platforms like Gmail.
6. Research companies you're interested in and follow them. During your job hunt, compile a list of desired companies and follow them on LinkedIn. This ensures you stay informed about company news and job openings.
7. Utilize the Advanced Search feature. Harness LinkedIn's Advanced Search to find professionals associated with your preferred companies.
Identify connections who are linked to your target company, and create a list. Based on their connection to the company, you can pose relevant questions about the organization's culture or inquire about their experiences as clients or service providers.
8. Request introductions. When you find a targeted job and you're ready to reach out to the hiring manager, seek introductions from your connections to individuals within the organization.
9. Connect with alumni from your college or university. Search for your college graduates to connect with fellow alumni. This shared background can be a valuable asset in your job search.
10. Actively engage on LinkedIn. As LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner suggests, be genuine and current in your interactions. Share articles you've written, post videos, comment and participate in group discussions. Increased activity as a professional will raise your visibility and recognition.
11. Engage with LinkedIn Professional Groups. Use Advanced Search to identify professional groups in your field and get involved. This not only expands your network but also showcases your expertise when you engage in online discussions and provide answers to questions.
12. Research potential employers and their executive team. Before interviews, use LinkedIn to gather information about hiring managers and interviewers. Learn about their interests and likes, which can be used to build rapport during interviews.
