How To Land High DR Backlinks (Without Writing ANY Content)

How To Land High DR Backlinks (Without Writing ANY Content)

The brutal truth is, whitehat link building is going to become harder and harder…

In fact, sometimes it doesn’t matter how good your content actually is. Some webmasters will still ask you to pay for a link.

And I can understand why with the amount of spam they get!

^ But this is the exact reason why I decided to test out something that’s highly value driven:

Audio Link Building.

It’s like infographic outreach, but even more win-win and personalised.

Here’s how it works…

What Is Audio Outreach?

Basically, you’re just reaching out to webmasters and offering an audio version of their blog…

Then when you send them the embeddable audio code, you can include a link to your website as well.

The embeddable code (with the backlink) would look something like this:

https://i.imgur.com/0XreY0P.png

Then webmasters can just copy and paste it into their blog.

It’s win-win:

You get a backlink. They get a more engaging blog and free content.

Just to give you an idea, here’s what the embedded audio looks like (it’s a DR60 link):

Typically, these audio links were embedded right at the top of the blog post…

And that anchor text ‘recorded by King Passive’ — is a backlink.

How To Run This Campaign For Your Own Website.

Here’s how you can start running an audio outreach campaign yourself in 4 simple steps:

  1. Prospecting: Create a list of High DR blogs relevant to your niche.
  2. Outreach: Reach out to your prospects, and say something along the lines of ‘Hey, great blog! I actually liked it so much I created an audio version that I think your readers would love’. (For inspiration, I’ve included an email template below.)
  3. Content: At this point, you create the audio version of their blog, upload it and create the code (with your link).
  4. Delivery: You fire the audio code over to the webmaster, with instructions on how they can use it.

How To Optimise Your Outreach Email.

Creativity comes at a cost:

Either you’ll spend your own time recording the audio OR you’ll pay someone else to do it.

So I wouldn’t recommend recording the audio before a webmaster gives you confirmation. Otherwise you could waste a lot of time on something that never gets posted.

You can easily bypass recording the audio before reaching out, simply by asking ‘where’s the best place to send the link’?

So here’s an example of what you’d say in your email:

"Hey {name},
Just wanted to reach out and say amazing work on your website.
I liked your article on {topic}:
{URL}
Actually, I liked it so much that I recorded an audio version of it - so your readers can listen to it on the go.
Are you the right person to send this to?
Cheers,
{Your Name}"

Here’s some tips for improving your outreach email:

  • Keep it short and conversational
  • Explain the benefits of why this audio file is useful e.g. readers can listen to it on the go, it’s more engaging, improves the usability of their blog etc.
  • Starting out with a genuine compliment always goes down well
  • Ask where to send it — because as mentioned earlier, you don’t want to spend time recording the audio before you get confirmation

Does Audio Outreach Actually Work?

My biggest worry was that my prospects wouldn’t get it — or they just wouldn’t be interested…

But I had some amazing feedback!

So if you’re thinking about doing this yourself, here’s a couple of examples to give you an idea of why they liked it:

Some webmasters knew I was doing this just to get backlinks — and they still complimented it:

In total, I built over 20 audio links in a 2 week period for my client, and these were really high quality links. Especially when you consider:

  • You don’t need to write any content — you’re simply recording someone else’s.
  • It’s very value driven and win-win for both you and your prospects.
  • If you want links from authoritative websites, it’s a great way to do it.
  • Essentially, you have unlimited link prospects. Any websites with relevant content are an opportunity.
  • In a world where webmasters are bombarded with link requests, this will make you stand out.
  • The link will also drive a small amount of referral traffic.
  • And instead of building links to your blog content (like with infographics or skyscraper), you could potentially get links straight to your homepage/money pages.

How To 10X Your Results.

Because this was an experiment, I recorded the audio myself.

But recording a blog into audio, uploading it and then coding this into a link is a little time-consuming.

Plus you need somewhere quiet and a decent Microphone to record it.

However, you could easily hire someone off Fiverr for a cheap voiceover.

And if you did that, you could quickly scale this bad boy up.

In fact, like I said earlier you’ve pretty much got an unlimited amount of link building prospects to go at!

Quick Tips To Build More Backlinks With Audio Outreach:

Prospect Carefully: Because the whole process can be a little time-consuming/expensive, I’d recommend only reaching out to high DR (Domain Rating) websites. With skyscraper campaigns, you’d usually hit every link building prospect — but with audio you have to be more selective.

Voiceover Quality: Personally, I cringe when I hear my own voice. But if you speak clearly, remove background noise and use a decent microphone, then you got this! Also, listening back to the audio was a little jarring: But you can easily outsource the whole process for a reasonable price from websites like UpWork or Fiverr.

Be Wary Of Copyright Issues: This usually depends on the niche… So sometimes you may have webmasters who don’t want the audio because it’s protected by copyright. However, if they say no that’s ok! You don’t need to worry, because as mentioned earlier you haven’t even recorded the audio yet.

Test The Code: If you don’t get it right, the embeddable code to your audio/link isn’t going to work. Be careful and test the code yourself before you send it.

So that’s a wrap...

Thanks for reading peeps :)

The link building landscape is changing!

…And I feel like the way link building is going, value-driven campaigns like these will become more effective.

Plus, outreaching like this will separate you from everyone else in your prospect’s inbox.

So I hope that you found this tutorial useful, and if you need any tips or have any questions let me know below :)

HI mate, I admire your works everytime. And I like how you enumerate the 2nd point among the 7 points you highlighted on why building audio content is essential; you know what I mean "the value driven and win-win". I'd like to know more of your craft and hoping we could work together in some future project. Thanks
