How the lack of differentiation in the accounting industry is bad for the consumer.

If all accountants sound the same who do you choose for your business? How do you know that this specific accountant will give you the most value for specific business?

Recently I was in the market for an accountant and believe me these questions were going through my mind and to be honest they still are! If you choose one of the generic accountants that claim they offer the services you need, or worse they do everything, but they know nothing about your business – you are in for some frustrating and difficult times.

See if the accountant does not specialize in businesses like yours, then firstly they need to learn everything about your business, after that they need to decide which skills or knowledge are applicable to your business, and finally provide the service you hired them for. On top of all that trouble and time wasting you will still get mediocre service and value because you can’t be the best at something if don’t specialize in it!

The thing is, it doesn’t need to be this complicated and time consuming! If you hire an accountant that specializes in exactly businesses like yours then they already know everything and how to apply it to your business since they have done it a thousand times. They might even have a set package and system in place just for you - You will get better service and more value for your money!
