I’m entering a really busy season of my life. For 5 out of the next 6 weekends, I will be living out of a suitcase.
On top of a busy next several weeks, I’m still a mom, a wife, and a business owner. I still need to find time to grocery shop, clean the bathroom, have date night, do laundry, and also relax!
When life gets busy, and the to-do list feels endless, I rely on these two secrets.
Secret #1: I SLEEP.
My phone goes to sleep at 8:19 pm and my body follows within the hour for at least 7.5 hours. As a Licensed Psychotherapist, I know that sleep improves mood, regulates emotions, increases energy, and eliminates brain fog.
Everything is worse when you’re tired. Small problems become big problems that rob you of your time, resources, and emotional bandwidth.
If I could only suggest one thing to improve your mental and physical health and overall well-being, it would be getting enough quality sleep.
Secret #2: I set the alarm 30 minutes earlier than I need to.
The first 30 minutes of my day are to be spent in silence.
No chaos, no sounds of The Loud Family or Miss Abbey in the background.
No one calling my name or asking me to do a damn thing.

I have time to reflect, solve problems, sort through scenarios, and listen to myself think.
I have the luxury of prancing through my kitchen making coffee without anyone asking me to make them something to eat.
Having 30 minutes in the morning to do whatever I want, and answer to NO ONE is nothing short of GLORIOUS. It keeps me sane.
