X, which used to be called Twitter, is changing how blocking works. Here's how to keep people you block from seeing your posts.
What's Changing?
Right now, when you block someone on X, they can't contact you, follow you, or see your posts. But soon, even if you block them, they will still be able to see what you post. They just can't interact with you.
This change has made some people worry about safety and privacy. If you want to keep blocked users from seeing your posts, there are two ways to do it, but neither is perfect.
Two Ways to Keep Your Posts Private
Deactivate Your Account
The first way is to leave X by deactivating your account. After 30 days, it will be deleted. Remember, if you want to remove all your posts from the internet, it might be tough because of sites like the Wayback Machine that save old posts. You can ask them to delete your posts, but they might say no.
Protect Your Posts
The second way is to protect your posts. This means only people who follow you can see what you post. You'll have to approve each person who wants to follow you. This can be good because it stops spam bots from following you.
Your posts won't show up on search engines like Google.
Only you and your followers can search your posts.
But, if you reply to someone who doesn't follow you, they won't see your reply.
How to Protect Your Posts on X
From a computer:
领英推荐
Log in to your X account.
Click "More."
Select "Settings and privacy."
Click "Privacy and safety."
Click "Audience, media, and tagging."
Check the box next to "Protect your posts."
From a phone (iOS and Android):
Tap your profile icon.
Tap "Settings and Support."
Tap "Settings and privacy."
Tap "Privacy and safety."
Tap "Audience and tagging."

That's it! Once the new blocking policy starts, people you've blocked won't be able to see your posts.
