DC Studios’ Dynamic Duo: How James Gunn & Peter Safran Swooped Into Top Roles
Following Walter Hamada’s up-and-down tenure,?Suicide Squad?filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran have been?appointed Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios. The appointments end Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav's longest, most heavily scrutinized job search since he took over the combined company in April.?The bar for the new execs is high – Zaslav has specifically invoked Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, who has steered the Disney division to creative highs and many billions in box office.?
Just a week ago, when Hamada exited his post, there was strong buzz that Safran would succeed him. Turns out that Safran, who had just renewed his first-look deal with Warner Bros.,?didn’t want to run DC alone unless there was a creative partner, that being his?Peacemaker?and?Suicide Squad?cohort Gunn.
QUOTABLE: "Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of the DC stable of characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonder of human possibility these characters represent" -James Gunn & Peter Safran

2 年I don't feel excited or sad for this news. At least after Hamada was out of business there will be new direction for DC Studios. With this new leadership lets hope everything will be taken care of.
I am beginning to suspect this is part of Kevin Feige's plan for phase 1,003.
