How to invest in the next BIG technology disruptor

How to invest in the next BIG technology disruptor

Anyone who's an investor is likely to have heard of private equity, but what exactly is ‘private equity’? Private equity (PE) is capital made available to private companies or investors. Usually, PE opportunities are available to a certain type of clientele due to the minimum investment requirements.

Funds raised are used to develop new products and technologies, expand working capital, make acquisitions or strengthen a company’s balance sheet. The end goal is to add value to the companies they buy, then sell them on or take them public via an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Over the last 10 years, many big companies that we’re familiar with today got there by funds raised through PE. Early investors in these companies enjoyed a percentage return on investment in the thousands.

How many of these big companies have you kicked yourself and thought:

"I wish I could have owned shares in that company before it grew so big?"

Some of the most well-known recent examples are:

·     Uber

·     Airbnb

·     Dropbox

Without private-equity, these firms might not have grown into household names and be in the billion-dollar club. It used to be that a startup worth more than $1 billion was a unicorn, a creature so rare as to be quasi-magical.

So, what’s the next BIG thing…?

Pushfor.

This is a young and promising tech company based out of London, UK.

Pushfor is a smart, secure content sharing and messaging platform that pushes, controls and tracks content of any type or size, engaging with users in real-time regardless of the device used.

With global hacking threats increasing year on year and existing methods of encryption failing to protect users and their data, Pushfor’s founder, John Safa, conceived an idea to completely solve this problem with a totally new and unique approach to data security.

Pushfor was formed in June 2013 with the objective of realising this idea and developing the software that has revolutionised both cyber data security and online data analysis.

Now that Pushfor has fully developed and patented its groundbreaking data security and analysis software, it is poised to become a highly disruptive element in the marketplace as it secures recognition as the benchmark for security of digital data transfers.

To add to the attraction, Sir Michael Rake, Chairman of BT and Worldpay has expressed interest in joining Pushfor’s board.

Now, how can I access this type of investment?

The ?ON Private Equity Fund (?ON PE) is a private equity investment fund that has an opportunistic, commercial-minded approach to its investment strategy. ?ON PE makes equity investments in companies that have enterprise values between 10 to 100 million USD where a meaningful stake between 25 to 100 percent is purchased. These companies need to be cash flow generating and traditionally have reference clients. They must have exceptional medium to long term growth potential. ?ON PE is viewed by the owners as “value enhancers”.

?ON PE’s approach is “buy to sell” where the global network of ?ON PE sourced value deals can be expertly managed and value enhanced. A truly global approach is implemented with specialist expertise to lower risk and maximise financial performance. Typically, the unleashing of value will occur over a three to five-year window. ?ON PE is involved in multiple industries with an onus on technology.

Our Approach

?ON PE is headed by seasoned investment bankers who have been involved in multiple transactions over the last 30 years. ?ON PE makes direct investments into cash flowing businesses and companies that can possibly excess realizable value on their asset base over and beyond existing debt facilities. It has at its disposal the flexibility to purchase equity stakes or to provide convertible debt.

Post-acquisition, the fund will also provide assistance in all stages of the company’s life-cycle until exit. Prior to each investment, ?ON PE will ensure that it understands the needs and objectives of the existing owners and management team, whilst offering an absolute return to its investors. Based out of Geneva, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands we foster a truly global approach in our investment outlook.
